Emergency diverts Sydney flight to UNA

A Qantas flight from Dallas to Sydney has been diverted to La International Airport after a passenger had a medical emergency.

The Airbus 380 landed in Los Angeles early on Thursday morning, Airport spokeswoman Nancy Castles says.

She said the Fire Department carried the sick passenger to a hospital for treatment. The nature of the disease was not disclosed.

The remaining 180 passengers on Flight QF8 were put up by the airline in local hotels.

The flight is scheduled to leave again for Australia on Thursday night.
