In the life of an individual, turning seventy is a landmark achievement. And if you have to follow ancient wisdom, the feat comes with a hint that the years in advance may not be a lot of once again.

In the life of a corporate organisation, as well, clocking 70 is a big deal. The reason is that the actual mortality rate of company organisations is usually higher, especially in a rustic like Nigeria where, many have noticed, the odds towards private initiatives are actual.

When a company thus seems to attain this elevation, it would normally want to heave greater than a sigh associated with relief. Its management would like to perform out aloud, although the wise ones should realise it is also you a chance to renew the actual organisation’s values.

In recent times, the actual Lagos Airport Accommodations, Ikeja finds itself on this circumstance. A subsidiary of Odua Investment Company Limited, it had been incorporated with five rooms within 1942, as, Great Hotel Lagos. It had been, still renamed Ikeja Hands Inn in 1956 underneath the ownership and management of Mr . Joseph Harold a Briton.

The hotel’s Controller, Sales and Marketing, Mr Ayodele Gabriel, so excursed into history last Thursday when he revealed what he called the Ramadan Package, alongside other steps the management has taken to help keep the company who is fit. According to him, the actual hotel has made a provision for Muslims that will last with the Ramadan period because it realises the value of the going on a fast month to them.

This individual notes that the attire is one of the oldest hotels around Lagos and beyond. As a result the problem constitutes an extra challenge to the managers.

“To keep an old hotel will be difficult and setting up a shape that will continue to provide visitors comfort means you have to be up dated in terms of amenities and style. There is a standard you have to keep; yet you are unable to afford to stay at the same degree, ” Gabriel says.

This individual adds that the main steps the motel has taken would be to renovate its bedrooms and other amenities. But as when part of the viewpoint is that old things have to expire, many of the rooms are also being renamed, with Gabriel saying that 170 from the hotel’s 277 bedrooms are already renovated.

On what is the implication of the moves to the actual fortune of the motel, he says the actual management has spent much but the effort is rubbing up well upon its income.

“Our inside generated resources have provided a very good outcome though, I must say, we all still have some functional challenges. We recently procured 1000kva generator worth N30m. We also had to upgraded our 33kva feeder range. Those would be the things that should be in place to ensure that our many customers are happy in order to patronise us.

“We look at the issue associated with security; we ensure that we mount this particular place with private safety couple with our inner intelligent people moving around. To achieve personalised services we always want to give to our clients, we consistently train our staff. Now, we have even established an institution – Lagos Airport Hotel Hospitality Institute and and, very soon we are taking in students, while also continuing to train our staff presently there, ” Gabriel clarifies.
